The Group was founded by a renowned central banker, Late Mr. P. D. Gupta, a Grade F Officer of the Reserve Bank of India, and Late Mr. M.N. Goiporia, who held Chairmanships of four large public sector banks, including Dena Bank, Mr. Pankaj Gupta, an eminent Chartered Accountant of the 1975 batch who has conducted audits of large financial institutions, banks, and companies, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), LIC Housing Finance Ltd., General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC), NABARD, and others. After the initial setting-up period, the group embarked on larger business plans in the financial sector and is well-known in the segments of lending, investment, and asset reconstruction.West End Housing Finance Ltd. (WEHFL) has been promoted by the group and got its licence to conduct the housing finance business from the National Housing Bank (NHB) in June 2016.
