Mr. Arun Kanti Dasgupta is a well-known name in the insurance and housing finance sector in the Country. As Insurance Ombudsman at Mumbai, Mr. Arun Kanti Dasgupta resolved the highest number of cases in the country and settled over 25000 cases of disputes between the Policyholders and the Insurance Companies. He built mechanisms to enhance the quality and timeliness of the decisions and also created fraud analytics to help the Companies and Customers resolve grievances fairly and transparently. During his tenure as MD of LIC of India, he was the main architect of various strategies and path-breaking initiatives in the areas of IT/CRM/ Marketing/Investment and Risk Management areas to keep the Organization ahead of competition. His Initiatives aimed at creating appropriate work culture, work-life balance for the employees, creating a culture of customer orientation by listening to the inner voice of the customers were taken with good results. Attempts were made to identify and groom the thought leaders of the future from within the organization through long-term HR development program. EDMS, the process of digitization taken and completed during the period which transformed the work process and efficiency.

As CEO of LIC HFL, transformed the company with structural changes and ultimate listing in the Global Market. Entire risk underwriting migrated to scorecard-based underwriting of the mortgages, a total shift from individual risk appetite-based underwriting; which had an immediate impact on the quality of asset profile of the LIC Housing. As Head of marketing in the GCC countries, the footprints of the company was extended to cover the entire Gulf market and also to the newer markets in which LIC International had no physical presence through online marketing at a time when things like workflow were relatively unknown; used the learning to expand the operation to other countries through subsidiary/joint venture route. Mr. Dasgupta was associated with several big organizations viz. Whole Time Director & CEO of Sahara India Life Insurance Company Ltd. from 2018 to 2023, Independent Director on the Board of UTI Asset Management Company from 2017 to 2018, Managing Director of Life Insurance Corporation of India from 2007 to 2012, Executive Director LIC of India from 2004 to 2007, CEO of LIC Housing Finance Ltd from 2004 till 2005. Mr. Dasgupta has served as a Nominee Director on the Board of various Companies viz. ABB India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Grasim Industries Ltd, Axis Bank Ltd, and MD in most of the LIC subsidiaries during 2007-12.
